The Lotus Hilo warmly welcomes you to our property. We would like to call your attention to the following policies:

  • Cash deposit or credit card information will be required at the time of booking a reservation
  • Reservation less than 21 days out/ payment in full required to reserve space.
  • Reservations more than 21 days in advance of stay require 50% advance payment to be secured.
  • Cancellation policy 14 days notice full refund less $40 fee
  • Please note variation on the cancellation policy as follows according to you room type:

Cancellation Policies in effect since March 28, 2020:

  • Rooms: Attic or Sweet Room. We require at least seven (7) days prior to your arrival date for reservation cancellation.
  • Apartments: Loʼi, Botanica or Mauna Apartments : We require at least fourteen (14) days prior to your arrival date for reservation cancellation.
  • Vacation rental Cottages: We require at least fourteen (21) days prior to your arrival date for reservation cancellation.

In instances where a medical diagnosis of COVID-19 is reason for cancellation less than 14 days we offer our guests the flexibility to reschedule their visit and one additional complimentary night of stay (or other upgrade wherever possible).

In instances where travel restrictions due to COVID-19 is reason for cancellation less than 21 days from date of stay we offer our guests the flexibility to reschedule their visit and one additional complimentary night of stay (or other upgrade wherever possible).

Additional information about our cancellation policies:

  • If you cancel with less than the required notice, you agree to take responsibility for the deposit amount of 50% of the total amount of stay with the option to take a credit for future stay with us.
  • If you shorten your stay or check out early, we regret that payments will not be refunded.
  • We will give the guest a seven (7) day notification if The Lotus Hilo has to cancel a guest reservation. The guest agrees that no penalties will be incurred by the Lotus Garden Hilo due to the cancellation of the reservation because of unforeseen events.
  • Rates/policies are subject to change during high impact periods and with special requests.
  • Non-refundable prepayment for your stay is required for some holidays and special events such as the Merrie Monarch
  • Guest incurring damage to The Lotus Hiloʼs properties, including floors, rugs, walls, furniture, linens, and locks, will be charged at least one night rent in addition to the cost to remedy the damages.
  • A fee of $25 is charged to guests for keys lost or not turned in at time of check out.
  • $150 fee for smoking inside the rooms. Designated outdoor smoking areas are disclosed to guests.
  • The Lotus Hilo may store guest items with prior approval by hotel management.
  • The Lotus Hilo is not responsible for damage or loss of any merchandise, equipment, including bicycles, clothing, or other valuables left in or at our facility.
  • Our pets policy requires prior notice before bringing any animal to our lodgings.
  • Photo identification and credit card required upon check-in.
  • No visitors are allowed at the hotel without prior communication with hosts/proprietors
  • Check-in: 3:00 P.M. If early check-in is needed, please consult the front desk.
  • Check-out: 11:00 A.M. If late check-out is needed please consult the front desk.
  • Please stop by the front office prior to check-out from the Inn in order to leave keys behind.
  • Cash payment at check-in will require additional $200.00 cash deposit or a valid credit card.

AUTO-COLLECT: Payment for retail items and gift certificates is collected at the time of purchase.

CHILDREN: Children are welcome with an accompanying adult.

CREDIT CARD SECURITY: Your credit card information is stored and processed securely.
